UPDATE: Exciting New Developments for GFCT Focal Therapy
As you may be aware, this wholly owned subsidiary of GFCT, was formed to promote, amongst other things, the range of focal therapies which carry many potential advantages for men who have been newly diagnosed with prostate cancer.
Whilst this remains central to its aims and ambitions, it's becoming increasingly obvious to us that because of the huge pressures within the NHS, the pathway to diagnosis itself can be fraught with difficulties and delays.
In order to help alleviate this where we can (and thereby give more men the option to have HIFU because of earlier diagnosis), and following discussions with some of our key supporting clinicians, we're also now aiming to support a range of the procedures needed to speed up diagnosis. This includes ongoing discussions with leading MRI scanning facility suppliers to offer discounted services, and discussions with suppliers for items such as ultrasound machines which are urgently required by some hospitals as part of their biopsy procedures following the results of MRI scans.
As a result of this, we've also decided to change our name to GFCT Treatment Support Ltd, since we feel this more accurately describes our wider approach.
We hope to have more news to share on both fronts shortly.
Thank you for your continued support.
