On 25th April 2025, Northampton General Hospital launched their new NHS Focal Therapy Service which marked a major step forward in the treatment of prostate cancer in the Midlands, bringing HIFU treatment to prostate cancer patients in the region.

We understand the hospital will be treating its first patients with HIFU on 4th June 2025. 

At GFCT, we want to say a huge congratulations to everyone involved in this groundbreaking moment for men in the Midlands, including Northampton Hospital Trust, Crompton & Co, Sonablate, Cerno Health and all the generous sponsors both large and small who made all this possible. 

We hope this is the start of a much needed and overdue expansion of the availability of focal therapy treatments for suitable candidates across the UK. A true levelling up process.
